Child Care Centre (CCC) is a secular, non-political and nonprofit making voluntary organization established by a group of committed individuals under the leadership of Dr. Indu Pandey in 2002. This group was inspired by the philosophies of the prominent social change agents and leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Vinoba Bhave and Jay Prakash Narayan and got influenced for voluntary actions in the form of a second line leadership in carrying forward the social change interventions and development activities.

CCC is one of the most streamlined organizations in Bihar State of India involved in the empowerment of the marginalized communities in both urban and rural settlements through mutual learning, participatory action and advocacy. Through this process, Child Care Centre has developed key insights regarding a wide range of determinants associated with the developmental take-off and sustainability by marginalized communities, families and individuals. With these insights the organization effectively and strategically addressing the challenges associated with economically or socially disadvantaged communities/families/individuals with an inclusive approach that keeps children, youth and women on the highest priority across every intervention.
15 Supplementary Education Centres (SECs) are imparting education to the children from the most marginalized communities residing in the urban poor settlements spread in Patna, the capital city of Bihar State. The curriculum adapts both formal and non-formal teaching/learning methods.
We promote clean and healthy environment by integrating sanitation programme with enhancing livelihood opportunities and livelihood options for the communities. Along with awareness drives; we have we have developed waste management practices at the community level in such manner as to provide assured income to the involved community members. This approach also makes the intervention sustainable.
'Rangmanch' is an institutionalized platform of folk and theater promoted by Child Care Centre which operates as its arm of empowerment and mass education through cultural forms such as music and theater., The priorities are promotion of social cohesion, fraternity and religious harmony; addressing and curbing various social evils like child marriage, dowry system, child labour, trafficking, caste discrimination, gender discrimination, witch-hunting etc. The best plays staged during the past years include 'Murtikar', 'Assam Mail', 'Aadhe Adhure', 'Dayashankar Ki Diary' and so on. The RANGMANCH Team has done excellent and dedicated work for sensitization, preventive awareness and home-based care by spreading messages through folk and street-plays during this COVID - 19 Pandemic period.
Reflection Groups are being promoted among adolescents on personality development, leadership, life-cycle, life-skills, adolescent reproductive health education, emotional resilience, career guidance, youth friendly services and relevant institutional linkages.
Expert Resource Persons from Child Care Centre are conducting regular skill development sessions and career counselling of young students in various schools and under-graduate institutions across Bihar State.
For ensuring inclusion and equity we strategically promote Community Based Organizations (CBOs), village/settlement level institutions, practice of mutual help, habit of savings, micro investments, micro enterprises and a wide range of capacity development aimed at overall empowerment through economic freedom and freedom from dependencies.
